dear yoga friends
***wishing you all an abundance of joy peace happiness love light in 2018***
starting 11 January 2018, i am sharing a lovely weekly yoga practice at the beautiful station yard studio in ashburton, embracing the sivananda yoga sequence…a beautifully balanced practice, building strength and flexibility while opening energy channels of the body, to enhance prana, life force energy and come to a place of deep peace…
each practice will flow through pranayama (breathing exercises), warm up stretches and sun salutations , classic asana including inversions, seated poses, backbends, twists, standing, ending with meditation and deep relaxation
investment
£10 drop-in
£8 prepaid halftermly block
this is my heart’s practice, is where i started my yoga journey, and the practice i always return to…..
swami sivananda was such a beautiful teacher, a qualified doctor who renounced the world and became a mendicant and then a much loved and revered teacher, setting up hospital and ashram in rishikesh, on the banks of the river ganga….. one of his students swami vishnu-devananda, left india in the 1950s to share yoga with the west…. swami vishnu set up yoga centres in his teacher’s name, and became known as the flying swami, as in his work advocating world peace he flew over troubled lands scattering petals and prayers and asking people to question man- made borders and mentally constructed boundaries…
